How to Easily Understand Music Theory on the Guitar Without Reading Music.
In Weeks - Not Years
Do Any of These Sound Like You?
🎸 You’ve been playing for years…
…but music theory still feels confusing or disconnected from the guitar.
🧠You know some scales and chords.
Maybe even CAGED.
But you don’t really see how it all fits together.
❓ You can memorize shapes…
…but you don’t always know what you’re actually playing.
📚 You’ve tried to learn theory.
Videos. Articles. PDFs.
And somehow, it all still feels overwhelming.
🎯 You don’t want more information.
You want things to finally make sense.
🚫 You’re not looking for music school lectures.
You want theory you can actually use.
✅ If any of that sounds familiar, here’s the good news:
You’re not as far off as you think.
🧩 Understanding Music Theory Is Easier Than You Think
Once you stop guessing and see the logic
🚫 The problem isn’t your ability or your effort.
Most guitarists are handed scattered theory ideas with no clear structure.
You’re expected to piece everything together on your own.
That’s what creates confusion.
You end up memorizing bits and pieces…
but never seeing the full picture.

The easiest way to understand how music actually works on the guitar.
BUY NOWAfter two decades of teaching and over 25,000 guitar lessons, I’ve learned one thing very clearly.
Most guitarists don’t struggle because they lack talent. They struggle because music theory was never explained in a way that actually made sense on the guitar.
I’ve been playing guitar since I was 13. Like a lot of players, I started with tabs and taught myself enough to get by. I could play songs, but I didn’t really understand what I was doing. Scales, chords, keys, and theory all felt disconnected.
Growing up in Charlotte, I struggled to find teachers who could explain theory clearly. Some weren’t interested. Others knew the information but couldn’t communicate it in a practical way. So I kept pushing forward on my own.
Later, after moving to Winston-Salem, I studied classical guitar and eventually jazz. That opened new doors, but even then, music theory often felt academic and abstract. It still wasn’t being taught in a way that helped me see the fretboard clearly or apply ideas naturally while playing.
Over the years, I studied with more than 100 teachers, earned degrees in classical and jazz guitar, and taught thousands of students. But what shaped my teaching the most was learning alongside my students. Watching where people consistently got stuck. Seeing which explanations worked and which ones created more confusion.
That’s what led to Street Music Theory.
This course is built for guitarists who want music theory to finally click. No reading music. No academic jargon. Just clear explanations, simple diagrams, and a logical way to understand how the fretboard, scales, chords, and harmony actually work together.
If you’ve been playing for a while but still feel unsure about theory, if you know bits and pieces but want real clarity, this is exactly who I built Street Music Theory for.
I’ve been there. And I’d be glad to help you move forward.
That’s Why I Built Street Music Theory
After teaching over 25,000 guitar lessons since 2007, I kept hearing the same frustrations.
You’ve been playing for a while. You know some scales. Maybe you’ve even taken a few theory courses. But music theory still feels confusing. You know bits and pieces, but you don’t really understand how it all fits together on the guitar.
You can memorize shapes and patterns, but you’re not always sure what notes belong where or why something works. Keys feel abstract. Chords feel disconnected from scales. The fretboard still feels more complicated than it should.
I built Street Music Theory to fix that.
This is a course for guitarists who want music theory to finally make sense on the instrument they actually play. Not academic theory. Not music school lectures. Just clear, practical understanding.
Street Music Theory is designed for players who are tired of guessing, tired of memorizing without understanding, and tired of feeling overwhelmed by theory that never fully clicks.
